This picture was taken two weeks ago in Bedford County Virginia off Route 460. We were on our way to Forest, Virginia to visit a friend who owns an Italian restaurant. We met Joe seven years ago when we first moved to Roanoke and have kept in touch with him as he moved to Florida and again back to Virginia. Enjoyed visiting with Joe and his family and having a yummy meal.
I think the cloud formation very unusual and hope you enjoy. Reminds me of a twisted rope.

Great photo, it does look like a twisted rope!
This is beautiful landscape. If this is part of my road trip, I can see myself pulling over and eating my sandwich while I gawk at so much beauty.
The scenery was still so green! Nice. ;-)

Unusual cloud formation and the light is amazing as well.
Beautiful. I like the hillside and the colors of the trees, and that twisted rope cloud. Thanks for sharing.
Great shot. Those clouds do look like twisted rope, or a twisty donut. :-)
Erin: This was a neat sky to show from your part of the country.
No that you said that, the clouds do look like twisted rope. Inviting landscape under those clouds.
It IS an unusual cloud formation. I like it, and the scenery is fantastic!

Beautiful green and blue together! I like countryside a lot!
Yes, this was a very special formation of the cloud - can't remember to have seen it before. Beautiful picture with all the colour specters and the fine motive.
I love the pasture with all of the green grass and beautiful trees as well as the pretty sky!
In the enlargement it looks like waves breaking. Really unusual formations that gave you a stunning photo. Lucky you and lucky us!
It does look like a twisted rope... looks like a sheared roll cloud. Very awesome!
Magnificent photo - just perfect for a post card!
Nice shot. Very unusual clouds, sort of like wringing out a wash cloth. Did it rain?
