Skywatch Friday - Revisiting the Little Church

As you are traveling up Route 220 you will see a smallish sign on the right of the road indicating "Church". If you aren't paying attention you can pass right by it. And, if you have traffic tailgating behind you it is best to keep on going. The turn is sharp and the road down to it unpaved, rutted and narrow. But, this little gem lies at the bottom of the road.

Many of you had asked to see what the little church looked like (post of January 22, 2009). I do hope you enjoy.

Please take some time to visit Skywatch Friday for more fabulous photographs from friends throughout the world.

It's a marvelous old country church. Do you think it's still used?
Where are you going?

What a quaint little church. Is it unoccupied or still in use? That's the kind of little church I picture in a small, cozy wedding in the country, your photos taken in an open field with the wind blowing your veil every so lightly...

I wish I had this kind of photo composition in my hand right now, so that I'll try to convert them to HDR :)

Thanks for posting this update. A little jewel of a church, and such beautiful faded colours against the bright blue of the sky.

Enchanting photos of the little churches. What do the ghosts of the long gone worshippers whisper in there? We have little churches like thise around the countrysite. Not here on the Gold Coast, the schicky schmicky world has all of them torn down; to make room for ugly shopping centres and ugly ostentatious mansions.

What a find! You gotta love coming across something like that tucked in a remote corner that way.

Great photos, Erin. It looks like a model building at first - I almost expected a toy train in the background.

I thought it was a model too at first. How cute that is.. I have to go look up that route on a map...
