My World - Horsing Around in the Piazza della Repubblica-Florence, Italy

This lovely carousel is located in the Piazza della Repubblica in Florence, Italy. I always make a point to stop by this lovely Piazza and have tea and watch the children on the carousel. This year was no exception. I think the horses are beautiful with the feather plumes atop their heads.

Be sure to stop by the MY WORLD meme hosed by the MyWorld Team of: Klaus | Sandy | Ivar | Wren | Fishing Guy | Louise. It's a great meme and I so enjoy photos from around the world and know you will too.

That's a gorgeous carousel horse. There is a mall nearby that has a carousel made in Italy. It had to go back there repairs. Beautiful workmanship.

Hi Erin,

thanks for nice comments and I think your carousel is lovely. Great composition. Firenze is on my list of places I want to visit and what would be better than having a cup of coffee watching the children like you do.
Have you seen my carousel in Carcassonne and in Mirepoix? They are also very old fashioned. (maybe they are)

Beautiful picture of carousel.
You should photography this with flash, set as second curtain shutter speed to have a trail of light at the horse's tail.

Beautiful! I love how the blurred edges frame the colorful horse. Thanks for visiting My World post. I wish I could tell you what kind of tree those are on my pic...they may be Mulberries. Not sure. The leaves are just now starting to come out. Enjoy the day...

You're right -- this is a beautiful carousel. I'm guessing it must be fairly old since the horses are so elegant.
