Sky Watch Friday - Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy

This week I share with you Piazza Navona in Rome. The Piazza is an immense public space and features sculptural and architectural creations by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, whose famous Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers, 1651) stands in the center and is pictured above; and the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone designed by Francesco Borromini and Girolamo Rainaldi that is also pictured above. I just loved the angle of this shot and the cloudless blue sky. Do enlarge it...the details pop when you do. Enjoy.

Be sure to check out Sky Watchers from all over the world at SkyWatch Friday. This meme is hosted by: Klaus | Sandy | Ivar | Wren | Fishing Guy| Louise who do a fab job.

Just an amazingly wonderful shot. The building the statue all about it is just great. And I looked at the details. Buildings today are very different. Flat is the word maybe.

Have nice weekend!

The details in the building are just amazing. I too love the angle at which you shot this. The statue of the man looks like he is relishing the building as much as I am. I also love the bluish shadows. What a feast for the eyes!

Love the way that the building stands out against that beautiful blue sky and the statue appears to be looking up in awe :-)

Wow. The statue of the man is juxtaposed nicely stretching his hands and soaking in the beauty.

How lovely. Great SWF.

Wonderful architecture but it´s the statue of the man reaching to the building that makes the photo.

It's like a higher plane - the dramatic statue, white classical buildings and a blue, blue sky. Wish I was there!
