What Happens When You Park Where You Shouldn't - Rome, Italy - My World

I find it interesting that the locals in Rome get quite creative(well, I suppose you would have to) when it comes to parking their vehicles. Space is at a premium and every one owns a car, or so it seems. This is the first time I have seen this contraption physically removing a car from a space where it should not have been parked. I thought it worthy of a photograph or two. Taken on the Viale Trastevere near the Piazza Ippolito Nievo.

Please stop by and visit the MY WORLD MEME hosted by the fab team of Klaus | Sandy | Ivar | Wren | Fishing Guy| Louise. We had over 100 visitors last week.

Ooops. He probably just had to run in real quick for something. Now it'll cost time and money! Love the warm glow in these photos.

It looked like anytown USA to me except that I saw the writings on the back of the polizia. This is funny. BTW, I loved the color on that car.

At first I feared that the contraption was taking your car away! I'm glad to hear you were just observing.
Interesting photo. Poor auto owner will be sorry when he returns.

Despite the tiny size of many of the cars, Rome does seem a bit like a giant traffic jam. And there are so many pedestrians, too! It's a living and vibrant city because of all that, but still I can imagine a constant battle of wits between drivers/parkers and the traffic authorities.

I've never seen a car moved that way. Interesting.

Nice to see a bit of gritty realism in your very dreamy photos! The contrast of that is very interesting...

Well, these cars are small enough to be picked up and thrown in the trash. Love the photos of Assisi, which I used to visit as a child.

It is a great money making project to take them away and have the owners pay a rensome fit for a king. Nice of you to grab the shots.

Those are fun shots. I guess it would be less fun if that was my car in the wrong place being moved.

Lucky it was not you car, otherwise it cost money to claim it back from police or city hall or maybe have to go to court.
Anyway a very good travel pictures.

A funny post Erin, and it was not a bad idea at all to take a photo.

Also, just let me know whenever you are here in LA.

Hahaha ! that happens here too in Brussels !
I am not so excited to go to Italy because it's always the same. I know the Garda lake by heart since I am married since 40 years ! But I will enjoy the nice weather, the mountains and some friends. From the family there is only my SIL with husband and daughter and a cousin left all the others are dead by now of course. Now since 3 years we rent a little appartment at the lake that's nice.
