Today I am featuring some window and building photographs from the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy. I just loved the way the water and light worked together in these captures.Don't you just love the peeling plaster exposing the bricks beneath? And, the rusting wrought iron work? These are the backs of the businesses that face the bridge walkway. I think some of the shops are also configured as living quarters as well. Of course, the sea gulls had to do a fly by for me and I was lucky enough to capture them.
Be sure to stop by My World hosted by the great team of: Klaus | Sandy | Ivar | Wren | Fishing Guy| Louise . They do a fantastic job. I so enjoy all the entries from around the world. Do stop by if you've a chance.

Hi Erin! They are marvellous! Are they watercolours? They look like watercolours any way. And I especially like that kind of light blue. Thanks for sharing! Thanks for your comment on my story. It was a terrible time.
I just enjoy windows images. Any design, any type of material.
You have really lovely images here.
Erin: Nice look at the building in Italy.
Beautiful window details and the seagulls add to the atmosphere.
Beautiful - and so colorful too!
Super duper marvelous! I especially love that arbor!
Truly breathtaking photos!!!
Nice to see a culture that can accept a worn infrastructure without our American obsession for newness.
Hi Erin, Me again. I thought I'd pop back to answer your questions. I think the plant with the red flowers in the planters is begonia and I'm guessing the big leafy ones are elephant ears.
Beautiful Italien pictures, Erin! I love them all!
beautiful post!
Love, love, love the first photo.
I give you this week's blue ribbon!
Why I love mainland Europe so much especially your area. These colours and peeling paint are such delicate beauties.
Brilliant architecture in these shots, these pics are great.
Have a great week

They are all outstanding.
I love the seagulls flying by, and the buildings are charming. Beautiful photos.
As I recall, there were a lot of birds in Italy. Nice capture of another side of the shops and restaurants.
So well taken shots!
The birds in the first shot adds life to the picture. :)
You really make Florence shine and glow in a new way.
Excellent photos.
Oh, I fell in love with Ponti Vecchio when I was in Florence. I will have to come back and study these pics later. Off now to visit more meme blogs
You are right Erin. The light and the water really do a great work together. The third photo got a special look just because of their playing. And, the first photo is really beautiful; the seal gulls give the photo some special charm. I also like the second photo with those small and interesting windows. Great trio that you posted!
Really nice photographs.
Absolutely gorgeous!!!! I so love your photography! You are fabulous! Congrats on POTD! So well-deserved! ~Janine
Congrats on POTD mention!
Just, WOW. I love the old European cities and villages where the buildings and public art are allowed to show their age and wear a bit--part of the charm. The colours make these even better--I loved every one.
Lovely work, so glad to see more of Your Photographs.
Thanks to David McMahon I popped in to see these terrific images. I wanted to go to Florence anyway, but now I want to go really bad, Elizabeth.
