Heigh Ho...It's Home from Work We Go: Anzio, Italy-My World

Walking along the beachwalk in ANZIO this past February I came on this lady throwing breadcrumbs to the seagulls. You can see her legs on the left of the photograph behind the trash bin. And, the gulls were swarming about. I took several shots before I captured this one...gulls are not the easiest thing to capture when they are dive bombing bread...

Please stop by and visit the MY WORLD MEME hosted by the fab team of Klaus | Sandy | Ivar | Wren | Fishing Guy| Louise. We had over 100 visitors last weekthis shot as the gulls look like they are following the men home from work on the pathway.

Isn't it funny that you can be home for just a little while and then want to go on another trip again? I've really enjoyed your pictures of Italy. My daughter just got back from two weeks there and loved it.

Uh oh, hey, did you know you have a sea gull on your back, Mister?

At first I thought the gulls were chasing the two guys walking, thinking they must be fisherman, but not dressed right. Great capture.

Well that's an interesting photo. Very clever to take the seagulls and the legs of the bread throwing lady! Thanks for your visit and nice comment.

I love this shot. You did a great job of capturing the seagulls and it looks like a procession of people and birds.

What a fabulous shot and very clever composition, you do get to see it all from the feeder's legs to the feeding gulls! You don't want to get in between a seagull and food! I found that out here in Seattle at the beach! Great post!

Have a lovely week, Erin!

Great shots, they look like they are just heading down the street like people, only flying.

Such a very colourful shot. Seagulls squabbling over food certainly are hard to catch.

I read "bird lady" and was looking for the Mary Poppins variety. She is a svelte one! Those birds are lovely.

It isn’t easy to take such photo at all. I’ve already tried but in vain. This photo is outstanding!

Great capture Erin, I wonder if those men were even aware of the low flying birds behind them!

Lovely shot. I did that too when I was visiting Perth, Australia. Amazed by the huge number of seagulls, we feed them with bread leftover from our breakfast in the hotel.

I really like this photo. Even though I live by the coast, I haven't ever captured anything like this. I remember a few years back when visiting Tintagel in Cornwall, the seagulls did the very same to me, whilst I was sitting on a rock attempting to eat a huge Cornish pasty! x
